Gokeyo Valley Trek
Gokyo valley trekking is another most the popular trekking trails in the Everest region. It is popular because, you will have chance to have tour around the mountain valley called the Gokyo and the lake located at 4,750 m height.
Trekking around Gokyo Valley is considered a traditional trek that offers magnificent views of the mountain peaks and the Ngozumpa Glacier- the largest in the Nepal Himalayas. The image of this region is associated with the soaring views of the most popular mountains in Nepal, at an altitude of 8000m such as Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu which are clearly visible from Gokyo Ri above Gokyo Lake. One of the most remarkable features is the view of the tremendous ice ridge between Cho Oyu and Gyachung (2922m) located in Khumbu region. After a Forty five minute flight from Kathmandu landing at Lukla’s tiny airstrip, the adventure really begins. We spend the next few days trekking and interacting amongst the mountain people also known as Sherpa’s we stay at local lodges and trek into the heartland of their villages. Everything is organized in conjunction with local Sherpa guides. Along the trek we will pass Buddhist monasteries with the views of Everest and other snow towering mountains getting closer by the day. We will have rest days in the villages of Namche bazaar that will allow us to explore the region and to acclimatize, which is very important. After trekking to Gokyo Ri (5483 meters), we return at a leisurely pace back to Namche and Lukla for our flight back to Kathmandu.
Itinerary at a glance
Day 01: Pick up at Tribhuvan international airport & Transfer to the hotel. Overnight Stay at hotel.
Day 02: Fly to Lukla( 2880m)40 minute.Trek to phakding(2680m) Approximately 3hr. Overnight Stay at Tea house lodge.
Day 03: Trek up to Namche Bazar(3440m),Approximately 7hr. overnight Stay at tea house lodge
Day 04: Acclimatization day at Namche. After breakfast hike up to Syangboche (3720m) about 2hr. panorama view from Everest view hotel including Mt Everest (8848m)and hike to khumjung village(3780m), take lunch and back to Namche Bazzar. Approximately 3hr.overnight Stay at tea house lodge.
Day 05: Trek up to Dole (4110m) approximately 6hr. overnight stay at tea house lodge.
Day 06: Trek up to Machhermo (4470m), approximately 5hr. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.
Day 07: Trek up to Gokyo Lake (4790m), approximately 4hr. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.
Day 08: Early morning Day Hike up to Gokyo Ri (5316m) to see sunrise view and back to Gokyo. Approximately 4hr.overnight Stay at tea house lodge.
Day 09: Trek to down Dole (4110m), approximately 5hr.overnight stay at tea house lodge
Day 10: Trek to down Namche bazzar, approximately 5hr.overnight stay at tea house lodge
Day 11: Trek to down phakding (2680m), approximately 6hr.overnight stay at tea house lodge
Day 12: Trek to up lukla (2880m), approximately 3hr. overnight stay at tea house lodge.
Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu 45 minute and transfer to the hotel. Over night stay at hotel
Day 14: Departure to Tribhuban international airport by car or on your return day when you have flight ticket fixed date.

Trip Info (Tour/Trek Styles) Explained
- PG Private Group: This style of trip is organized for specific groups of people (families, friends,school and college students, colleagues, business associates etc.), and is closed to outsiders. If you are interested in this particular trip departure date then please get in touch with us.
- OA Open to All: This trip departure is open to all. However, if you are interested in this particular trip departure date but want your own private group, then please get in touch with us.
- LT Lodge Based Trip/Trek: This trip/trek is lodge (teahouse) based. All accommodation, including food, is provided in local lodges. Occasionally however, where a large group is concerned we may choose to send our own cook along, as well, to take care of your food hygiene and to cook some special additional items.We provide all necessary documentation, including permits, and arrange all internal transport. We provide trekking guide, assistant guide(s) and porters/animals for transport of your gear. You merely carry a daysack with essentials, including water.
- CT Camping Based Trip/Trek: This trip/trek is camping (tent) based. We will provide one 3-man tent for every two people, also single tents, where requested, on payment of supplementary costs. All food and drinks are provided by our experienced cook and his kitchen team. We provide all necessary documentation, including permits, and arrange all internal transport. We provide trekking guide, assistant guide(s), cook, kitchen crew, food and drink, and porters/animals for transport of your gear. You merely carry a daysack with essentials, including water.
- GAP Guide, Accommodation & Porter only: In this trip neither food nor transportation is included. Clients are responsible for food and local transportation, and our responsibility is to provide insured guide, insured porter, and all necessary permits. All additional costs are the responsibility of the clients, including charges incurred as a result of delays or cancellation of services beyond our control. Clients pay for their own accommodation. Any additional costs are the responsibility of the clients, We can arrange hotels and international airport transfer, on request.
- SG Self Guided/Budget Trip: This trip is specially designed for low-budget travellers who prefer fairly basic facilities with reduced services. It is a pre-requisite that a porter is hired for any self-guided trip, which is an ideal set-up for those who enjoy independent travel with minimum cost. We have added support to minimise the hard work of planning and costing, and we will be available to help in the unlikely event of an emergency. We will arrange all documentation (including permits), before you arrive in Nepal, so that you are free to get on with your adventure, relying only on your porter to help you on your way. All additional costs are the responsibility of the clients, including charges incurred as a result of delays or cancellation of services beyond our control. Hotel accommodation, local transportation and international airport transfers may be arranged, on request.
